Who we are
faang coding prep, based in Rhode Island, United States, operates this coding-practice app and its related services. This policy describes our handling of information. Our service is for adults aged 18 and over. Contact us at contact@faangcodingprep.com about privacy or your data.
Practice data on your device
The app stores your local profile, chosen username, onboarding answers, preferences, drafts, saved answers, submissions, question progress and rewards on your device. Guest practice does not require an email address or a social sign-in. Local practice storage is excluded from system backup. We do not provide practice synchronization or cloud backup, so uninstalling the app or losing the device can permanently remove this work.
Product analytics
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used and improve it. Events include screen visits and visible time, onboarding choices selected from predefined options, question and difficulty identifiers, editor action counts, execution outcomes and timing, hint interactions, rewards, and subscription-page interactions. Events include pseudonymous profile/session identifiers, event timestamps, app/build versions, and technical information supplied by the SDK. These identifiers can distinguish repeat use; the data is not fully anonymous. We do not send your name, email, answer contents, clipboard text, support messages or raw error messages as analytics event properties. Automatic interaction capture, session replay and surveys are disabled. Onboarding experiences may differ: new profiles can be assigned a tutorial that allows early exit or requires completing the lessons. We measure assigned variants and learning outcomes using pseudonymous identifiers to compare these experiences.
Online identifiers and milestones
Google Firebase Authentication creates an online guest identifier for access to our backend. Firebase/Google Cloud also stores first-open, onboarding-completion, first-solved-question, subscription-page-visit and Subscribe-tap milestones, linked to a pseudonymous identifier. A Subscribe tap records intent, not proof of a purchase. Operational services receive network information such as IP addresses and request metadata. PostHog may process IP addresses and device information; we do not claim that all network identifiers are removed.
Smart Hints and OpenAI
When you send a Smart Hint request, the selected question, your current answer and relevant execution/context information, and hint preferences pass through our Google Cloud backend to OpenAI to generate a response. Your chosen username and email are not deliberately attached. Please do not enter personal, confidential or sensitive information into answers or hint context. AI responses can be incorrect. OpenAI states that API content is not used to train its models by default unless the customer opts in. Provider storage and security retention still apply; this service does not promise zero retention.
Subscriptions and payments
Apple processes in-app subscription payments through your App Store account. We do not receive your payment card or bank details. The app verifies purchase information and stores the subscription period and access status locally. Apple handles billing, renewals, purchase restoration and refund requests. App-data deletion does not cancel a subscription.
Support and remote content
If you contact us, your email provider sends the message and address you choose to contact@faangcodingprep.com. The app does not automatically attach your answers, logs or history. We use correspondence to respond and resolve issues. Question illustrations are included in the app and displayed locally; opening them does not contact an external image host. Email services have their own privacy policies.
Uses and service providers
We process information to provide requested features, maintain security, troubleshoot problems, understand usage, improve the service, handle support and meet applicable obligations. Service providers include Google/Firebase, PostHog, OpenAI, Apple and email/content delivery providers. We do not sell personal information, run third-party advertising in the app, or use analytics to target advertising across other companies' apps. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where protections may differ from your location.
Retention and deletion
Local practice remains until you remove it using the app's controls or uninstall the app. Firebase identifiable milestone records and the guest authentication account are removed through the online deletion workflow; aggregate counts without a profile link may remain. PostHog events and their pseudonymous identifiers are retained under the project's retention settings; we do not promise a fixed shorter period that has not been verified. Standard operational logs are configured for 30 days, although information needed for a specific security incident or legal obligation may be retained longer. OpenAI Responses API application state is retained for at least 30 days under its default storage behavior, and abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days or longer when required. Deleting local app data does not instantly remove provider backups or OpenAI records that cannot be associated with your deletion request. See the Data Policy for controls and limitations.
Your choices and rights
Settings provides controls to clear saved history and delete your account and app data. Online deletion can require connectivity and may remain pending while a provider processes it. You can request access, correction, deletion, or object to processing by emailing contact@faangcodingprep.com. We may need proportionate information to verify a request and will respond as applicable law requires. Rights and exceptions vary by location; you may also complain to your local data-protection authority. We do not claim that acknowledging this notice waives your rights or constitutes consent for every use of data.
Adults only
The service is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly offer accounts to children or collect information from children for this service. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate deletion steps.
Changes and contact
The current policy version and revision date are available in the app. Material changes will be explained through an in-app notice or another appropriate channel. Questions: contact@faangcodingprep.com.
